Adding 100℃ boiling water directly may speed up the heating process, but it will continuously damage the material of the hot water bag and create safety hazards. The product labels and user manuals of regular hot water bags will indicate the suitable water temperature for filling. The industry-standard safe water temperature is 80℃ - 90℃, which is formulated based on the combination of PVC material characteristics and daily usage scenarios.

Adding boiling water will produce a large amount of high-temperature steam, and the internal pressure of the hot water bag will rise sharply. Qualified PVC hot water bags have reserved pressure resistance design, but the long-term high-temperature and high-pressure dual effects will continuously wear down the sealing hot-melt welding structure of the bag body. Most of the leakage around the filling ports are caused by the premature aging and detachment of the edge sealing due to high temperature, leading to water seepage.

The high-temperature steam will also damage the sealing accessories. The rubber sealing ring at the bottle mouth and the plastic cap have lower heat resistance than the main PVC fabric. Long-term exposure to high-temperature steam will cause the sealing ring to harden and lose elasticity, and there will still be gaps after the cap is tightened. When the hot water bag is lying flat and being squeezed by the body, the gaps will seep water, easily soaking bedding, and high-temperature leakage can easily cause skin burns.

The edges and bending parts of the hot water bag are concentratedly stressed. Boiling water will cause local softening of PVC, and under the pull of water weight, it will undergo irregular stretching deformation. After cooling, the deformation will be permanently fixed. When folding and storing in different seasons, the deformed positions will be under concentrated stress, and the white marks at the creases are the intuitive manifestation of the formation of fine cracks inside the material, which is also a precursor to subsequent cracking and damage.

In terms of service life, frequent addition of boiling water will significantly shorten the service life of the hot water bag. For PVC hot water bottles with the same wall thickness, long-term use with 80℃ warm water filling results in an overall service life more than twice that of the boiling water-using model. The difference in service life comes from usage habits, not the difference in raw material quality.

To extend the service life of the hot water bag, after the water boils, let it stand to cool down, and then add water when it feels warm and not hot. By simply adjusting the water filling habit, you can not only meet the needs of keeping warm and heating, but also maintain the softness of the bag body for a long time, avoiding hardening, cracking, and leakage problems.
